What Is PET Film for Tin Plate Lamination?

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) film is a high-performance polyester film widely used for tinplate lamination to enhance corrosion resistance, surface appearance, and food-grade safety. PET-laminated tinplate has become an excellent alternative to traditional lacquer-coated tinplate thanks to its environmental sustainability, high barrier properties, and excellent formability.

PET HEAT-SEALABLE

Biaxially Oriented Transparent Polyester Film with heat seal layer (co-extruded with specialty polymer) on one side.

The other side is corona treated or Non-Treated.

our Pet film is a safe, environmentally friendly material used for Food and beverage cans.

Thickness available:15mic/18mic

Color:Transparent /white color

Heat sealable film can be used on a film-laminated steel sheet. or Film laminiated Alumium Sheet.

Our film can be liminated with a approx 160 degree temperature without any glue/adhesive coating on the metal sheet.

our Pet film can be used for Laminated Tinplate Coil & Sheet

Laminated tinplate is an eco-friendly packaging material that combines polymer resin films with steel plates. It involves laminating materials like polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), and other films onto the surface of chrome-plated plates (TFS), tinplate (ETP), or cold-rolled sheets. This fusion results in a durable and versatile packaging solution with enhanced properties, making it ideal for various applications in the packaging industry. Notably, laminated tinplate offers environmental protection, corrosion resistance, safety, and aesthetics, bridging a gap in the global metal packaging industry. Products crafted with laminated film boast superior appearance and performance, surpassing those of conventional tinplate printing. As such, laminated tinplate presents itself as a viable replacement for current coating and printing methods on tinplate.

Laminated steel applications include:

  • Beverage and food containers (2PC and 3PC cans, 18-liter cans and pails)
  • Electronic components (printed circuit boards and parts for communication devices)
  • Other containers that require specific barrier properties and durability
